The Institute of Materials Engineering is open to cooperation with scope:
- comprehensive microstructural examination of engineering materials using light, electron (SEM, TEM) and atomic force (AFM) microscopy,
- examination of the chemical composition of steels by the spectroscopic method,
- examination of the chemical composition of materials in micro-regions, including inclusions and precipitates, by the EDS method,
- examination of the phase composition of materials by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) method, including the identification of phases in nitrided layers and scales, and the determination of the retained austenite content,
- examination of lattice parameters (including the period in thin multi-layers), residual stresses and texture in materials by the X-ray method,
- mechanical, hardness, microhardness and wear resistance testing,
- testing the strength properties and fracture toughness of materials under static and dynamic loads,
- material impact testing,
- determination of the thermal expansion coefficient by the dilatometric and X-ray methods,
- macro- and microscopic examinations of materials and products,
- examination of the surface topology by the AFM method (3D) and with a profilometer (2D) to determine the surface roughness parameters,
- coating thickness and adhesion testing,
- resistance testing of films and superconductive materials.
